Swindon
Dolphin
finally managed to kick start their season with an impressive
victory over

Bristol
University

.

As
in previous matches the start was a close hard fought affair.  The
students struck first, however Michal Trzeciak with
two strikes and one from Ian Brewer soon
gave the home side an advantage.  The
students battled back and scored four unanswered goals to give themselves a bit of
breathing space.  Matt
James
5m shot just before the end of the period ensured the gap would
only be one goal.

The
second quarter followed the same path as the 1st with goals being traded by both sides.  The
students managed three goals, this was answered by four strikes from Chris
McConnell, David Quinlivan
and Andy Hicks
(2)
for Dolphin.  At half time the match was
tied at eight goals apiece.

Dolphin
surpassed even their own expectations for the third periods and effectively won the
match for themselves.  They scored four
unanswered goals to give themselves a clear lead.  Goals
came from Quinlivan, Brewer and Trzeciak (2).

Dolphin
extended this lead further in the final period as the students ran out of steam.  Hicks scored
a hat-trick and further strikes from Trzeciak and James
Godden
ensure a comfortable victory.

Captain Hicks said
after the fixture, “We managed to grind out a result today, we still need to improve
on the basics, but atleast we are moving in the right direction”.
