Dolphin Water
Polo team continued from where they left off on Thursday with a battling victory over
a strong, physical Frome side.

Dolphin
started the first quarter playing some poor Polo. The side were lucky to emerge at
the end of the period still in the match, which was all-square at one goal each, Michal
Trzeciak
scoring the solitary strike.

During
the second quarter Dolphin played much better.  They
came to terms with Frome’s physical side and managed to win the quarter three goals
to two with strikes coming from Darryl
Pye, Rob
Green
and David
Quinlivan
.

Frome
battled their way back into the game in the third quarter, and they won the period
by two efforts to one.  Trzeciak with
his second of the game was the only highlight for Dolphin.

The
match was nicely poised at the start of the final period with the teams locked together
at five goals each.  Dolphin managed to
show that their confidence was still high following their mid week victory.  They
managed to create a small lead with goals from James
Godden
and Andy
Hicks
.  Frome replied with
a goal but Dolphin soon had their 2-goal lead back thanks to Matt
James
. Dolphin won comfortably in the end by nine goals to six.

Goalkeeper
for the day, Ian Brewer said
after the match “It looked like a very hard day at the office for the outfield players,
although they all worked extremely hard and limited the opposition to long shots.  With
a bit more composure I think we would have won the game by a greater margin.  Still
at least our unbeaten run has now been extended to a fourth match, lets hope we can
keep this going next week when we play Newton Abbot at home”.
