A Joint Statement from Tigersharks ASC and Swindon Dolphin ASC
Dear Member
Following joint meetings with the Chairmen and Head Coaches of both Swindon Dolphin and Tigersharks, it has been agreed by both clubs’ Executives that we will swim the Southern Junior
League, Speedo League, Regional & National competitions as combined forces in 2008.
For a number of years our clubs’ Executives have held the view that the opportunity of getting the elite swimmers of both clubs to compete at the highest level is one that we should try to fulfil. Combining forces in these competitions is a very exciting opportunity and one that could firmly place
Swindon at the top of National rankings. The recent success of the Wiltshire County Team, at the National Inter-County Championships, makes it very obvious that we have the highest level of talent and coaching.
For these competitions, A & B teams will be entered with selection criteria jointly decided by the Clubs’ Head Coaches. The clear objective will be to create the strongest teams.
Entering these competitions does not change the status of either club. Both Swindon Dolphin and Tigersharks will continue to be individual clubs and will compete in Wiltshire Summer and Winter Leagues and all other County competitions as normal.
This is a very exciting opportunity and one that should be embraced fully by both clubs.
