Swindon Dolphin C put in a determined performance to finish third behind Marlborough and Corsham in the first round of the Moonraker Summer League at the Link Centre on Saturday evening. Most of Dolphins’ individuals wins came in the Open section with Mark Tanner (100m IM and fly), Matt Rose (100m bk and brs), Nick Southern (100m frs) and Sarah Baker (100m brs) all successful. However the youngsters were equally impressive, especially Stephanie Dabbs and Helen Bennett who touched first in the 25 and 50m breaststrokes respectively.
Patrick Seed
There were excellent second place finishes for brothers William & Teddy Pilsworth along with Gemma Lucas, Emily Dixon, Louise Cullen, Lauren Hawkins, Patrick Seed, and Miriam Bermingham.
The Girls’ u12 squad of Dixon, Dabbs, Bethany Crouch, Louise Gardo, Lucas and Abbey Hawkins were narrowly beaten in both the freestyle and medley relays as were the Girls’ u16 quartet of Cullen, Lauren Hawkins, Emma Coleman and Lucy Wright.
Josh Preston and Andy Bilko joined Southern and Rose to win the Boys’ Open freestyle relay while Dean Coleman played an important part in the Open medley foursome as they secured second.
