For the third year running, Swindon Dolphin confirmed their position as top masters club in Wiltshire taking the overall 2008 Wiltshire Masters title by a slender three points from Salisbury.
Newcomers to Masters competition Katie Stokes and Alex Green earned valuable points taking three silver and two bronze respectively.
It was five wins from five swims for Jon Audis and Brian Davis who went on to take the overall male under 40 and 40 and over titles. Audis also joined forces with with Helen Hanks, Mandy Smith and Chris Lock in the mixed 160+ relay team taking convincing wins in both the medley and freestyle. There was the added bonus of a county record in the medley event and the reward of some silverware in the form of the Head Cup in the freestyle. Hanks and Lock also enjoyed individual success with 3 gold, 1 silver and 4 gold, 1 silver respectively.
In the higher age groups, there were some good performances and team points earned by Dave Ingram (two silver, one bronze), Glenys France (two silver, three bronze) and Jose Adam (four gold) who also broke a county record in the 100m IM. The younger age groups also had their fair share of success with Paul Kirk (three gold, one silver), Mike Eaton (two gold, two silver), Cally Gould (one gold, one silver, one bronze) and Anthony Clark (one gold, three bronze).
Also competing for Dolphin on the night were Matthew Herbert, Steve Herbert, Liz Matthews and Mike Wootton.
