There was standing room only at the Swindon Dolphin AGM on Tuesday as swimmers, coaches and parents packed into the Meadowcroft Community Rooms for their annual review of activities and election of the committee for the forthcoming year.
The Chairman’s report featured the year’s highlights including the long awaited formation of Sx3 and the highly successful Club Championships. There was much praise for the many volunteers who support the club in non-swimming roles and finally an emotional and heartfelt thanks to Chief Coach, Andi Manley.
The Chief Coach’s report detailed another successful year in the pool for Dolphin swimmers. This was followed by a presentation from Steve Cryer, Swimming Development Officer, who outlined his ambitions on the teaching element of the Club. The floor also heard reports from Competition, Social, Fundraising, Membership, Health and Safety, Welfare, Water Polo and Finance. The Treasurer’s report showed that the club’s finances are in a stable position and the meeting accepted the proposal for the new year’s squad fees.
All committee positions were filled, largely by existing members staying on in roles, and notably taking up new key positions on the night were Michael Diffin as Health and Safety Officer and Martin Butler taking on the role of Treasurer. Gabby Clark retains her position as Chairman.
