Teams: Swindon Dolphin v Bristol Central II
Location: Milton Road – Swindon
Date: Sunday 17th May 2009
Swindon Dolphin found their form after back to back poor performances in the Bristol & West league. A calm and collective effort ensured victory over their Bristol rivals by twelve goals to eight.
Swindon started the fixture by showing some of the stuttering form they had shown in their pervious two outings although by the end of the first quarter this appeared to be out of their system. By the half way point Swindon were leading by a single goal and extended this to 4 goals by the conclusion of the third period. Swindon’s domination of the match continued and by the end of the fixture they had secured victory.
Scoring contributions in this encounter came from Michal Trzeciak (3), Matt James, Alex Green and David Quinlivan (2), Andy Hicks, Andy Prowse and Chris Selby (1).
Goal Keeper Andy Watts said after the match “We always knew our form would return if we played the basics in the match correctly. Despite one or two individual mistakes, including one from me, we soon managed to find our feet. This is ultimately the sign of a good team. Let’s make sure we keep this positive form going ready for our next match in two weeks.”
