With the first round of the 2009 Moonraker Summer League cancelled due to a bit of a do in a local park, the competition for Dolphin kicked off with round two, division 2, and the B Team in action at Corsham.
Up against hosts Corsham B, Chippenham A and the ever improving Salisbury A, Dolphin always had a tough task ahead of them. Top Swindon performers on the night were Elizabeth Beckett, gaining maximum points in the 100m individual medley and 100m breaststroke and with team mates Rebecca Saunders, Charlotte Gardo and Jose Prunty touching home first in the girls open medley relay. The younger girls also picked up some well earned victories with Ellie Bilko in the girls U14 50m butterfly and Maddie Easter in the girls U12 50m butterfly. Easter, along with Joanna Farley, Louise Gardo and Lucy Bailey also outclassed the opposition in the freestyle and medley relays with clear wins in both events.
Deserved winners on the night were Salisbury, with Chippenham runners up and Dolphin B finishing third.
All three Dolphin Teams are racing on Saturday 4th July with the A and C Teams competing in their first second round at Monkton Coombe and Wootton Bassett, and the B team in their second third round at Salisbury. Confused? Surely not!
