Event: Tigersharks Level 2 Open Meet

With the Wiltshire County Championships just around the corner, Dolphin swimmers were looking to bag some early regional qualifying times last weekend at the Tigersharks Level 2 Open Meet at the Link Centre.
Alex Chantler opened his 2010 regional account in style hitting qualifying times in the first event of the meet; the 200m butterfly as well as his favoured 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle events. Other previous qualifiers adding themselves to the list for this year included Liam Jefferies in the 100m and 400m freestyle, Abbie Hawkins in the 100m and 200m backstroke and Ben Clark in the 200m individual medley who last qualified in 2005.
In her first year of regional competition, 10 year old Rebecca Matthews hit the mark in all three of her weekend swims, the 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 400m freestyle. James Chantler, 9, only just missed out on booking his place in the 200m freestyle by the narrowest of margins.

Existing 2010 qualifiers also recording times under the regional mark were Niall Westman (100m and 200m breaststroke), Kath Baker (200m and 400m individual medley), Lauren Matthews (200m backstroke) and Joe Kerslake (100m backstroke and 200m individual medley).
