Event: Wiltshire County Youth Championships
Venue: Link Centre, Swindon
Date: 6th March 2010
The Wiltshire County Youth Championships drew to a close on Saturday with a bumper crop of medals for Swindon Dolphin.
Dolphin’s strength in depth across all age groups ensured that they finished as the only Wiltshire club with gold medallists across all age groups and the highest number of swimmers with Junior and Senior Championship titles. James Clark, Joe Kerslake and Samantha Berry took four Junior Championships each. Senior Championship winners were Jon Audis (2) Elizabeth Beckett (2), Kath Baker and Louise Maynard. Audis was also the top Wiltshire age group medallist with an incredible 12 gold from 12 swims in the 19 years and over category.
Over the three days of competition, 17 Dolphin swimmers swam within the regional qualifying standard and three, Elizabeth Beckett, Liam Herbert and Joe Kerslake hit the national qualifying mark.
Full results are available on the Competition Page.
All attention now moves to the BAGCAT competitions which sees 9 to 14 year old boys and 9 to 13 year old girls compete over three days. With Dolphin having over 400 entries from 57 swimmers, it promises to be a busy time for both swimmers and coaches alike!
