Watson and Clark First in Line for Regional Qualifying

James Watson became the first Dolphin to book a place at the 2011 regional championships in the first event of the Salisbury Stingrays Open Meet, the 200m individual medley, with team-mate Ben Clark also hitting the mark just a few heats later.

A Dolphin squad of 25 were at the meet, with the vast majority of swimmers producing personal best swims and picking up medals.  Adam Coleman continued his improvement in form, coming close to the regional mark in the 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.  There were similar fine performances from Ben Sarachi, Noah Kirby, Rebecca Matthews, Michelle Bilko and Maddie Easter all of whom look set to make the grade over the next few months.

Of the 93 swims, Dolphin swimmers earned a total of 59 medals with top contributions from James Watson (3 gold, 2 silver), Ben Sarachi (3 gold, 1 silver), Maddie Easter (3 gold, 1 silver), Noah Kirby (3 gold), Emily Dixon (2 gold), Adam Coleman (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze), Michelle Bilko (1 gold, 2 silver), Abby Easter (1 gold, 1 bronze), Holly Parsons (1 gold, 2 bronze).
