Event: National Arena League Western Division, Division 3 Final
Venue: Newport International Sports Village
Date: 11th December 2010
Dolphin concluded the first season of their return to National Arena League competition with an overwhelming victory in the Western League Division 3 final.
An impressive 30 wins from the 50 event meet handed Dolphin the Division 3 Championship title ahead of Tornados of South Dorset in the runner up spot with both teams gaining promotion to the second division next season.
For Dolphin this was the start of a wider campaign to eventually regain their position in the Premier Division and the chance to compete against the likes of the Division’s 2011 Champions and reigning 2010 National Champions Plymouth Leander. There is little doubt however, that the journey will not be plain sailing and there will be fierce competition for places in the squad over the coming years.
The final saw Dolphin dominate in most age groups but some strong opposition particularly from Tornados 15 and under boys and Celtic Sharks open girls kept the competition alive although Dolphin’s overall strength shone through to give them a 66 point victory.
Division 3 Final Points: Swindon Dolphin 368, Tornados of South Dorset 302, Bristol North 214, Celtic Sharks 200, Torfaen B 193, Tavistock 178, Caradon 177, Barry 154
