A Dolphin squad of 20 headed south to the Swim Bournemouth Easter Open Meet at the Littledown Centre, Bournemouth. This would be all swimmers’ last opportunity to achieve new 2012 regional qualifying times or improve on existing ones.
Denice Gardo only had to drop the one hundredth of a second from her 400m freestyle time in order to gain regional qualification and a gutsy and controlled performance made sure of this as she swam a convincing 20 seconds within the required mark. In the same event, Georgia Dicks also made similar gains on her personal best time to qualify.

Victoria Tainty continues to pick up new qualifying times, adding the 400m individual medley to the shorter 200m event and the 200m butterfly gained at the County Championships. Also swimming within the regional standard over the weekend were Beth Crouch, Bradley McCabe, Gemma Lucas, James Watson, Lauren Matthews, Millie Jeans and Olivia Flack.
Top medallist for Dolphin was Tainty with two gold and one silver. Other medallists were Lauren Matthews (1 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze), Olivia Flack (1 gold, 2 silver), James Watson (1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze), Josh Fox (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), Rebecca Flack (1 gold, 2 bronze), Denice Gardo (1 gold), Georgia Dicks (1 silver), Bradley McCabe (1 bronze).
