Swindon Dolphin have been confirmed as winners of the 2012 Wiltshire County Masters competition, a title they last held in 2008. Having won round one at the Link and extended the lead in the second round at Trowbridge, what would have been the third and final round at Salisbury was cancelled due to problems with the pool, and the result at the end of the second round stands.
The 248 points won by Dolphin across the competition came from top 3 age group finishes by 28 swimmers in both individual and relay events. Top individual points earners were Jon Audis and John Drake, both of whom earned the maximum of 24 points each in their respective age groups. The impressive feat means they are joint winners of the under 40 years top swimmer award. Other top finishers were Brian Davis who contributed 18 points to the tally and Paul Kirk who earned 14 points. Dolphin’s top female swimmer was Jose Adam with 11 points.
Dolphin will be keen to retain the title in the 2013 competition and will be looking for support from both the top points earning experienced swimmers as well as those wanting to take their first steps into masters competition.
