Continuing on from a very successful 2016, of the 102 County Qualifiers for 2017 a total of 81 Swindon Dolphin swimmers are now confirmed for the 2017 Wiltshire County Championships. While many swimmers (and parents) will be looking forward to a well-earned Christmas break over the coming weeks, for those qualifying (and entered) in next years counties, training will continue pretty much as normal throughout the Christmas period to enable these swimmers to be ready and focused for the County Championships which start on January 14th.
A change in the County program for 2017 will see the younger swimmers ie 9yr-13yr competing first over January 14th, 15th & 21st and the “Youths” ie 14yr+ competing January 22nd, February 4th & 5th. A weeks break in the Youths program will allow the County Long Distance events to be swam on January 28th, which makes for a fairly busy start to the year for swimmers, parents, coaches and officials.
