Wilts Masters Swimming Championships Round 3
Salisbury 7th October 2017
The 2017 Wiltshire Masters Swimming Championships culminated with round 3 at the Five Rivers Leisure Centre in Salisbury.
Up against other Masters teams from around the county, a small but competitive band of 12 Swindon Dolphin swimmers attended to help push a final team points total. With such small team numbers accumulating points was
always going to be tough.
However, the team delivered some of their best performances ever, with multiple best swims across the board and a top display of competitive swimming.
Dolphin swimmers achieved 35 Medals; 13 Golds, 9 Silver & 13 Bronze, together with 7 County records; 5 from Jon ‘Jonboy’ Audis & 2 from Nigel ‘The Legend’ Masters.
Gold Medallists included, Ciara Montague (1), Sarah Forbes (1), Jon Audis (5), Nigel Masters (2) & Stuart Gibbs (4).
With some great Dolphin results on the night the final team scores after the 3 rounds saw Warminster win the overall best team trophy with 363 points, 2nd Salisbury 321.5 points & Swindon Dolphin securing the 3rd place position with 224.5 points out of 14 teams.
Thank you to all the coaches & helpers who work so hard and to the swimmers for all their effort & desire to compete, I am so proud of you all.
