One day after the impressive swimming in the Arena league second round, 29 of our County and Academy swimmers took part in the Wroughton Sprints at the Link Centre against swimmers from Wroughton, Royal Wootton Bassett, Tigersharks, Swindon ASC, Malmesbury, Durrington and Gibraltar clubs.
It was a great day (despite the indoor rain thanks to the Link Centres broken ventilation system!), with the Swindon Dolphin swimmers gaining:
– 58 PBs (each earning a well-deserved lolly from the competition hosts)
– 3 new County Consideration times (taking the squads total to 86)
– 3 improved Country Consideration times
– County squad’s first swimmer to successfully execute a cross-over turn in a race (Will Leonard)
– Excellent skills from dives and turns (everyone)
The following three swimmers winning their overall age groups:
Sophie King winning the Girls 8yr Age Group
Megan Watts winning the Girls 9yr Age Group
Freddie Carter winning the Boys 11yr Age Group
Amazing performances from everyone and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve at Soundwell next month.
